Last week the team took a trip out to Grong Grong to see all the progress on construction. It has been full steam ahead since the commencement of early works in August and in just 6 weeks we have achieved the following:
•Installation of the security fence;
•Construction of the turn in and internal roads;
•All piles installed;
•All trackers now fully installed; and
•All key components on site or in temporary storage in Australia.
Most excitingly, over 500 solar panels are currently being installed everyday, with mounting expected to be complete by next week.
The Grong Grong Solar Farm will be launching its second CSF campaign on Tuesday 12 September to fund the remainder of construction. Follow our page on Birchal to stay up to date on how and when you can invest.
What’s Next?
Once the solar panel mounting is complete, the next steps will include:
•Installation of inverter/transformer skid foundation;
•DC electrical;
•Inverter/transformer installation; and
•HV Works.
The Grong Grong Solar Farm is expected to commence generating power in January, dependent on Essential Energy timing.
